We send our Love and Support to our Brothers and Sisters in Haiti. May those who are now Ancestors Live On. May those who are still here in the physical continue to Stay Strong, Unite and Love through the Struggle.
For those who didn’t know I have a youtube channel at www.youtube.com/legacys8haven. There are a few videos that I thought I posted on the blog, but apparently not…so…The first below is the video for my most recent single featuring I Talk, “WE FREE” — I am very proud of this video, it is truly timeless. Dr. Kwame Nkrumah is featured at the end of the video.
The second is a set of videos is from The Beautiful Young Ladies of Jazz show that took place last summer. The show was amazingly beauty-full and features 4 of my very first full-set jazz performances. Enjoy! and check out the youtube for recent videos. Peace, Love, Prosperity! – L
How is everyone doing? I pray all is well and Forward in all of your lives. As for me, I’ve been well — very well, in fact — Give Thanks. The Winter season is usually a time of concentrated inner focus for me. This year, my “winter” season started at the end of the summer. I received some very exciting news at that time which has required that my focused energy be on the innermost aspects of who I Am and on the intricacies of my most intimate relationships. Since this news I’ve been on an extremely beautiful journey. Nevertheless, I have missed communicating with you all as often as I usually do. Thanks to everyone who has been sending me emails to check up on me. I Appreciate you all.
My theme for these seasons that I’d like to share with you is to transform unhealthy cycles in your life into healthy cycles for yourSelf, family, community and the next generations. YOU have the ability to create the Beauty that you so desire and need in this life. Know that all you do is not just for you, but that your actions affect the entire universe and these effects will be inherited by the next generation. So, use your will to “Transform and Heal” any situation that you encounter in this life that is counterproductive, or even, not as effeciently handled as you know it can Be.
As I always tell you all — even when you do not hear from me via email, know that I never stop working on my craft and passion – Music. I’ll be looking forward to sharing many forms of new Life and Creation when the Spring comes forth, including sharing with you all some of my latest songs that will be on the next albums. You can continue to view my website at www.legacys-haven.com. Check out the jazz section of the site to see many videos including my rendition of “Wild is the Wind” (sang by Nina Simone and many other artists) that is ranked the #1 Banana Puddin’ Jazz Jam video ever! (A BIG shout out out to Mr. Rome Neal.)
Finally, I’d like to invite you to a couple of events that I will be attending. Please see the detailed information from the Black Gold Sacred Kultural Healing center below. I will be performing on December 26th at the Celestial Music & Spoken Word event and will also be present at the Kwanzaa celebration on December 27th. I hope to see some familiar faces there.
Sending Love and Light to You, - Legacy/Nusaiba

Kwanzaa Seven Principles Are Celebrated 365 Days
Kwanzaa was created to introduce and reinforce seven basic values of Indigenous African culture which contribute to building and reinforcing family, community and culture among Indigenous Afrakans in America as well as Indigenous Afrakans throughout the world of Indigenous Afrakan communities. These values are called the Nguzo Saba which in Kiswahili means the Seven Principles. Developed by Dr. Karenga, the Nguzo Saba stand at the heart of the origin and meaning of Kwanzaa, for it is these values which are not only the building blocks for community but also serve to reinforce and enhance them. These values are re-dedicated yearly from December 26 – January 1.

As we all have heard, Michael Jackson was announced an Ancestor on Thursday, June 25th. To me the words that come to mind when I think about The Great Michael Jackson are “before his time”, magnificently gifted and talented, great entertainer, charitable, misunderstood, musically ingenious, one who crossed religious, social and racial boundaries. It always amazes me how people adhere to the memory of those they admire more in death than in life. It amazes me how the same vehicle that can lift a person to the heights can then have the false power of bringing that same person crashing down – as in the case of Michael. We can never understand what it is like to be one of the most known names and images in the WORLD! What it means to not be able to go to the store, take a walk or enjoy the beach without being bombarded by fans. Michael Jackson lived a fantasy life in so many ways, but we can never be sure if that is truly the life that he desired to live.
For me, what rings the most is the unbeatable skill that Michael had in being able to touch the human heart – through music and through his heart of giving. His music touched every aspect of the human life. I used to wonder if by some chance I was in the super extended family of Mr. Jackson. Perhaps my great great great great grandparents sat on a plantation along with his singing songs to get them through the days work and pain. Perhaps his ability to transcend into the hearts and minds of the majority of the human population was due to a gift unknowingly given to him centuries ago. Michael Jackson will never be dead or forgotten. He has entered into the lives of too many of us for that to ever happen. He is an icon, a symbol of what it means to be at your best in ones craft at any expense – at the expense of living a “normal” life, at the expense of truly being accepted for who he was. Who really knows all of the sacrifices that Michael Jackson made to be as great as he proved to be in the craft of song writing, composing, singing, entertaining, humanitarianism and more. What we do know is that he has never existed in and of himself and that the path that he took was pathed for him through years of suffering and he, in turn, pathed the way for so many of us. Give thanks and give thanks again for the life and legacy of Michael Jackson.
Below is the link to the Spring 2009 Edition of The L.E.G.A.C.Y. Vibration, in which you will find the linked information to the New and Official “WE FREE” Video. This is a milestone in my career as a community organizer, artist/musician and person. We need momentum and we need your support! Right here and Right now.
We need your support in order for us to grow as a “collective and cooperative community”.
The music that I make is Serious. There is no end to how our growth together will affect the World — the Universe. If you enjoy the newsletter and video, forward this email and the youtube link to someone else that you think may also enjoy it.
I thank you all for your continued attention and will be in touch soon.
Well, since my last email, I have began coming out of my writing shell. The Spirit of Music has called and particularly JAZZ! This past Saturday, I performed at The Banana Puddin’ Jazz Open Mic at theNuyorican Poets Cafe. The Banana Puddin’ Jazz Jam and Open Mic was conceived by Rome Neal over six years ago. Look out for more info about Rome Neal in the Spring edition of The L.E.G.A.C.Y. Vibration
This Jazz Open Mic was my first live, public Jazz performance. I decided to transition into studying and implementing Jazz into my repertoire for several reasons of which I’ll be sharing with you all later in my new blog. The performance from Saturday was recorded and can be viewed here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYsI6IpE5sc. Please leave a comment or rate the video..
I was honored and surprised when Brother Rome asked me to come back to perform with 3 other young and talented ladies in Jazz on July 4th at 9pm at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe in Manhattan’s Lower East Side…I’ll be sending out more info about this show…it’s gonna be great!
In addition to this, I have also uploaded a couple of videos for my song “Mother” that were filmed, produced and edited by the TAQWA Productions Youth Video&Film camp. I hope you all enjoy these videos which can all be found on my youtube page. The direct link is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z20aWNplwGs. (In order to read the video concept, you must watch the video from the youtube link.)
Ok, that’s all for now! Look out for the Spring edition of The L.E.G.A.C.Y. Vibration and the Official “WE FREE” video coming very soon.
Until next time, stay Peace. 1Love. Legacy/Nusaiba
“If you misunderstand your mind, you are an ordinary mortal; if you understand your mind, you are a sage. In this it makes no difference whether you are male or female, old your young, smart or simple.” Jakushitsu
Yes, it’s been a while. I’m just writing to check in and to let you all know that I am alive and well. I pray you all are doing great, maintaining Balance and progressing. For the past few months I have been in a very introverted mode. Even some of my relatives have been wondering where I disappeared to. Much of what I am embarking on right now requires that I disengage from the “world” and create a very close-knit, concentrated creative space. I have not performed since I left Sierra Leone, and, in fact, I have been spending much more time writing for the next album and reading different books. Reading fuels my writing very much so. In March, I also started writing my autobiography; not so much for publication purposes, but so that I can get a full view of what my life experiences have been like, how they have affected me and how they have crafted who I am today. I guess I could say that the autobiography is serving as more of a reflectional/meditative document.
I’m also working on the Spring 2009 edition of The L.E.G.A.C.Y. Vibration which I am planning to release before the first day of summer. (Click here to see the Winter 2008/9 Edition.) Oh, and a couple of weeks ago I recorded my first Jazz piece, which will be on the next album. I have been studying various jazz singers and musicians and the experience has been great. Ever since I was a little girl my father would play the piano as I sang jazz songs. “My Funny Valentine” was always my signature song at family gatherings (“Don’t change a hair for me, not if you care for me….”). Now that I am older, I am coming back “360″ to getting to know the great art of our ancestral music Jazz again, but this time, in a more intimate way.
Also, I just recently received my 1 terabite (1,000 gigs!) hard drive for my computer and have been able to start editing the official video footage for “WE FREE”. This past weekend I actually completed the editing of the video, but I won’t release it for another couple of weeks so look out for that! Please continue to check out my web base at www.legacys-haven.com. I’ve been making regular updates to the site and I’ve also started a blog where you all can keep in touch. (I’m currently deciding whether to continue with my wordpress.com blog or the blogspot.com blog - this decision and other updates will be enclosed in the next newsletter.)
I feel good about all that is going on right now. I am implementing the Balance necessary for me to continue to succeed and be at Peace. My Spring theme of “Loving the Essentials” and “Finding Pure Joy” still stands. I encourage you all to focus within on those aspects of yourself, of life and of those people who mean the most to you. Show your closest friends and family just how much they mean to you and spend time with those Essential aspects of life that are the foundation of who you are.
Enjoy life and find the joy in the midst of the struggle and chaos of the world.
I’ll be in touch soon. Much Love. – Nusaiba/Legacy

Visit www.GodsHouseInternational.org for a summary of events, picture and other media.
I decided to start a blog in order to keep those who are supporting my endeavours up-to-date. I send out monthly emails, however, I’d like for my supportive family to be able to “follow” me in the mean time.
I started The L.E.G.A.C.Y. Vibrationnewsletter during the Winter of 2007. It is a seasonal publication that I design and produced in order for people to get to know more of who I am as a person, not just an artist.
I am L.E.G.A.C.Y. and have been for about 14 years. My brother gave me the name in 1995 and I embraced it. With this said, I am not just a performer or artist in and of itself….I am, obviously, a person, with real experiences that I’d like to share with the world….with YOU!
Visit my website at www.legacys-haven.com to view all of the issues of The L.E.G.A.C.Y. Vibration. Until next time I write….take care, stay strong and stay up. 1Love. – N/L

I’ll be adding some personal commentary on the mission to Sierra Leone at a later date. Until then, please check out the video below of my performance on February 11th at the Ahmadiyah Muslim School, Rokupr, Sierra Leone – I lost my voice this day, but I was determined to give my brothas and sistas what I had…We Gon’ Be Free!
I pray that You all have been well in living out your life visions. Thank you all for the continued support. Many of you know how I feel about strong customer service, and as a Servant of the Community I appreciate any feed-back that you all have on the works I am involved in. I appreciate and welcome questions, as well.

“You can be educated in soul, vision and feeling, as well as in mind. To see your enemy and know him is a part of the complete education of man; to spiritually regulate one’s self is another form of the higher education that fits man for a nobler place in life, and still, to approach your brother by the feeling of your own humanity, is an education that softens the ills of the world and makes us kind indeed.” The Honorable M.M.Garvey
